Human Chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the developing placenta shortly after fertilization. During normal pregnancy, HCG can be detected in urine as early as 7 days following conception, doubling every 1.3 to 2 days. At the time of the last missed menstrual period, urine HCG levels are about 100mlU/ml with peak levels of 100, 000 to 200, 000mlU/ml seen at the end of the first trimester. The presence of HCG soon after conception and its subsequent increase in concentration during early gestational growth make it an ideal marker for the early detection of pregnancy.
The membrane of the test device was coated with anti HCG antibodies on the test region and goat anti mouse IgG antibodies on the control region. During the test, urine specimen is allowed to react with the HCG monoclonal antibody-colloid gold conjugate, which was pre-dried on the test strip. The mixture then moves upward on the membrane chromatographically by capillary action. For a positive specimen, the conjugate binds to the HCG forming an antibody-antigen complex. This complex is captured by anti HCG antibody immobilized on the test region (T) and produces a pink color band when HCG concentration is equal to or greater than 25mIU/ml. Absence of this colored band in the test region suggests a negative result. To serve as a procedural control, a colored band at the control region(C) will always appear regardless the presence or absence of HCG.
1. Early detection of pregnancy as early as 2-3 days after the fertilized egg implantation 2. Simple to use 3. A variety of design specifications suitable for self-testing use and for professional use 4. Results in 3 to 5 minutes 5. Store in room temperature 6. 24 months shelf life 7. Specimen: urine,serum/urine
1. Test strips and specimens should be brought to room temperature(20-30°C) prior to testing 2. Open the kit, hold the strip at the end without arrow or colored sign 3. Inserted the end with arrow or colored sign of the strip into the urine sample figure 1,waiting for only 3 seconds. Do not immerse the strip into the urine sample over the signed band! 4. Take the strip out and lay the strip flat on a clean, dry and nonabsorbent surface 5. Wait for 1 to 5 minutes and read the results as showed in figure 2
